Perfect for an intimate wedding, Château de Villette offers extravagant accommodations for a true châteaux experience. Interior decorator Jacques Garcia individually designed each of the seven suites in the main château, each suite a unique translation of 18th century design.
For an intimate gathering, guests can be hosted in the seven suites of the main château. Opening the wing can accommodate more guests, with a maximum accommodation of 30 guests on the property.
For larger guest lists, the château’s close proximity to Paris makes accommodations beyond 30 guests simple.
Historic Significance
Built in the late 17th century, the château was originally designed by architect François Mansart for the Count of Aufflay. It was later completed by his great-nephew, Jules Hardouin-Mansart, chief-architect of Louis XV, who also oversaw the construction of Château de Versailles. The garden of Château de Villette was also designed by André Le Nôtre, who created the famous gardens of Versailles. Thus, Château de Villette is known as Le Petit Versailles (the Little Versailles). The French government has considered Château de Villette a historical landmark since 1942.
In the 18th century, the owners of Château de Villette would host the leading intellectuals of the time, such as Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Paine. In more recent years, Château de Villette has hosted celebrities like John Travolta, Tom Cruise and Lenny Kravitz.
