The bride and groom celebrated ten years of marriage at Cal-a-Vie Health Spa, a Provençal dream with a 400 year old chapel imported from France. A Cal-a-Vie wedding is nothing short of magical.
While upon first glance this may appear to take place in the countryside of Provence, Cal-a-Vie Health Spa is a stateside retreat in the United States. Just outside San Diego, Cal-a-Vie is a European-style spa and wellness retreat in southern California. Named one of the Top 10 Best Spas in the World by Condé Nast Traveler, Cal-a-Vie Health Spa is a French-style paradise stateside.
The bride and groom wore custom pieces for this anniversary celebration. For her classic bridal look, the bride wore an A-line tulle wedding gown with floral detail from The White Flower boutique. For her second look, the bride wore the Monique Lhuillier limited edition 25th anniversary gown in the bride’s signature color, red.
The limited edition red and champagne tone gown features a full skirt and dramatic slit, inspired by red carpet dresses worn by Taylor Swift and Kaley Cuoco in celebration of the brand’s 25th anniversary.
To complement the limited edition gown and the flora of Cal-a-Vie, the bride carried a floral-forward bouquet in vibrant garden roses, ranunculus, and sweet pea.
A 400 Year Old Chapel Imported from France
Cal-a-Vie’s chapel is a true piece of history. The chapel was originally Chapel at the Convent of the Carmelites in Dijon, France. Construction of the chapel took place over centuries, beginning in the 16th century and continuing through the French Revolution in 1789. The entire Convent was demolished in 1978. The owners of Cal-a-Vie purchased the chapel in 2004. To import the chapel, each stone was carefully labeled and numbered for shipment to Cal-a-Vie from France. The chapel was carefully reconstructed, and opened in 2006.
The L’Orangerie was from the same convent, and was purchased to complement the chapel. The 400 year old limestone greenhouse has history extending from 1710, when it was built as a greenhouse for orange trees during the cold months.
