This Château de Champlâtreux wedding is nothing short of magical. Candice and Richard hosted an intimate wedding at Château de Champlâtreux, a stunning wedding venue just outside Paris.
When we began working with Candice and Richard, they envisioned a wedding that was elegant, dreamy, and romantic.
From Martha Stewart Weddings: “Candice and Richard celebrated their nuptials with an opulent and unforgettable affair that looked straight out of a fairy tale.”
The Wedding Design
Candice and Richard’s color palette was inspired by classical château interiors. Focal tones of cannoli
cream, rosewater, and delicate blue are accented by touches of portafino, green lily, light lilac, and apricot ice, accented by gilded gold textures reminiscent of historic French architecture.
As a nod to the venue, we also incorporated French textiles into the design concept with antique French
ribbon, toile, and tassels.
The Wedding Stationery
The wedding invitation suite served as the perfect first impression introducing the soft pastels color palette with French-inspired details.
The wedding invitation suite featured soft blue envelopes calligraphed in gold and lined with blush toile
de jouy, an invitation card with rosewater ink and custom crest, a thank you note with an illustration of
Château de Champlâtreux, handmade paper menus with wax seals, and tasseled butterfly place cards in
blue toile de jouy.
A Château de Champlâtreux Wedding
Candice and Richard chose Château de Champlâtreux as their wedding venue. The château has a close proximity to Paris, perfect for the traveling guests of a destination wedding. The château features stunning salons perfect for gatherings, and a vast garden perfect for fireworks.
The resplendent château has hosted lavish celebrations across its four luxurious salons for centuries.
The Wedding Ceremony Fashion
Candice wore multiple bridal looks on the wedding day, beginning with a delicate lace ballgown by Monique Lhuillier. For the wedding ceremony, Candice wore a couture floral headpiece designed by Lena Rom.
Richard wore a classic black tuxedo by Hall Madden with personalized cufflinks and a watched gifted from the bride for the ceremony.
The Wedding Ceremony
After their first look, Candice and Richard exchanged their vows at the fountain in the garden, haloed by a garden style arbor. Candice arrived in a horse-drawn carriage for a touch of magic.
The aisle was lined with touches of flowers, inspired by a growing garden.
After the wedding ceremony, Candice and Richard were whisked away in a horse-drawn carriage as their guests entered the château for cocktail hour.
The Floral Design
The floral design palette consisted of garden roses, sweet pea, scabiosa, nerine lily, quicksand roses,
astilbe, delphinium, lisianthus, and tweedia. The floral arrangements throughout the day were floral-forward, light on greenery, and garden-inspired.
Candice carried a garden-inspired bridal bouquet with focal tones of rosewater and soft blue, with
varieties of garden roses, sweet pea, scabiosa, delphinium, and nerine lily tied with an antique French
ribbon.
The Reception Looks
After the ceremony, the bride and groom changed into a second look. Richard traded his black tuxedo jacket for a white dinner jacket. Candice wore a chic fitted mermaid gown with a lace bolero and petite drop Chanel earrings.
The Cocktail Hour
The cocktail hour offered a variety of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres alongside a petits fours buffet for a
touch of sweetness.
The bride and groom had signature cocktails: Richard’s Mango Mojito, and Candice’s Aperol Spritz.
The Wedding Cake
The bride and groom held the ceremonial cake cutting in the marble rotunda. The wedding cake, inspired by the Salon Bleu, was designed with delicate blue with white bas relief detailed with white wafer flowers, all with delicate touches of gold in flavors of strawberry and vanilla.
Cocktail hour concluded with a champagne tower dotted with fresh flower petals to
kick off the reception.
The Reception Dinner
Candice and Richard joined their guests in the Salle de Billard for a wine-paired dinner.
The reception tables were flowered with low and lush garden style arrangements, with rosewater taper
candles in patinaed French antique candlesticks. The place settings were set with gold and white French antique china, gold-rimmed chargers, French antique crystal, gold flatware, and blush napkins.
For the reception paper goods, handmade paper menus with flower petal wax seals sat atop the china, accented by tasseled blue toile de jouy butterfly place cards. Place settings were accented with floral flourishes and Ladurée rose macarons in green and gold boxes.
For the first course, guests enjoyed roasted vanilla lobster. The main course offered guests a choice of duck breast with eggplant caviar, beef filet with oyster mushrooms, chicken breast with flower emulsion, or cod filet with spicy lemon. The dinner concluded with strawberry and vanilla wedding cake.
The Fireworks Show and Afterparty
After dinner, Candice and Richard joined their guests in the garden for a surprise fireworks show. Guests gathered on the back steps for a photo, when the bride and groom surprised them with a fireworks show overlooking the gardens.
Following the fireworks show, the afterparty began in the château. Candice and Richard kicked off the afterparty with their first dance. For the first dance, Candice wore a chic black tulle embellished gown. To conclude the evening, Candice and Richard danced the night away with their guests.
